Put the floats on

by Vincent on August 15, 2007

As you known if you read my page about the FADEC challenge, my goal this year is to fly FADEC equipped planes only. As this will end on 5th of November, I’m already thinking about the next challenge to come.

It could be a tailwheel endorsment on a Super Cub, or a turbo, using a Turbo Saratoga that became available to me very recently. Both of these would be training for planes I could then use, just taking care of the price when flying the Turbo Saratoga ;-)

Another of he possibilities won’t be so usable here, but is very tempting… putting the floats on, and go for a seaplane rating !

Seaplane

I took this photo in seaplane land, a.k.a Canada. But going there just for the rating, and being unable to use it later is a bit expensive. Another option is the aeroclub in Como (Italy) is one of the only places in Europe where floatplanes can be operated, and this is much closer than Canada.

This would certainly be a 99% useless rating, but what an experience… Will see, I’ve until the 5th of November to take a decision.
