Your Favorite Aviation Reading ?
I’ve been asked recently what is my favorite half a million dollar plane, and I also published in the “Safety Pilot” category some of my favorite readings about flying theory. I would be very interested now to know what YOU read about aviation, apart from this blog obviously.
Personally, I read the US APOA magazine, and sometimes Flying. I even had a subscription to Flying years ago, but I stopped it because it’s too much stuffed with adverts… but I continue to buy it when issues are about particular topic.
There are dozen of other aviation magazines out there, about fighters, airliners, GA, glinding, and so on. Some are regional, other are global. Many pilots also came to aviation because of particular books, including the series from Antoine de St-ExpuĂ©ry, but also some about war, exploration, and other branches of aviation. I’ve personally never been hooked-up by an aviation book… until now.
The question is open now, what aviation magazines do you read, what are your favorite aviation books, and why ?

Best magazine - AOPA Pilot by far, IMO. Worst is probably Plane & Pilot, but it still manages to be an ok read sometimes (shallow, though).
Best book - It kind of just depends on what you want. I loved the Machado PPL book for flight training. I’ve never picked up a copy of Stick & Rudder, but the little bit that I’ve read has left me completely impressed. I doubt there’s anything better.
