PM, if I understood it correctly, there will be two versions of the DA50. The one with the AVGAS engine and pressurization, and the one with the Jet-A1 AustroEngine... without pressurization ! So DA50 buyers will have to choose: TDI or pressurization... not an easy decision to make.

I agree that there is a great performance advantage with a turbine engined mooney over the da50 magnum, but one of the advantages mentioned about the cheaper Jet-A fuel is irrelevant, because the da50 also runs on Jet-A with its Austro diesel. I also believe that the price tag of the mooney will be in an other price category! To me the da50 is one of the best planes hitting the market, taking in to consideration that it is a 5 seater, has a cruise of 150+ knots and all that with a fuel flow of 6-7 gallons an hour at cruise and 9 gallons at max. I like the idea of a Mooney with a turbine, but I think the two planes are as diverse as a hybrid- and a sports car. But both are great planes!
