Vacation Roadmap
Tomorrow is the first day of our vacation trip to Switzerland and England. The next days will be full of driving, flying, and visiting. The know part of the plan is as follows:
- 16th of August – Driving from Frankfurt to Geneva
- 18th of August – EasyJet flight to London
- 19th, 20th and 21st of August – Flying with a friend in London
- 21st of August – Easyjet flight back to Geneva
- 22nd and 23rd of August – Flying DA40 TDI G1000
- 24th of August – Driving back to Frankfurt
The details of the flying part will be fixed on a last minute basis, depending on weather. The plan is to fly around the London area, but also to Guernsey (click here and here to read about that), and possibly to the other channel islands. A short hop to northern France is also an option.
The Geneva part will certainly be a mix of VFR flying in this scenic area, and of IFR with the G1000. The Aeroclub in Geneva also received two Tecnam P2002-JF. My visit could be the chance to test this 100HP Rotax equipped basic trainier.
I will also have fly basic exercises, like circuits, stalls, steep turns and engine failure training. My last flight was in March, so a good refresher will be more well necessary. This is less fun, but will help me to stay safe even if I don’t fly a lot for the moment.
This blog will be updated as usual, as I prepared some posts in advance. I hope I’ll be able to publish new flight reports and photos from London and Geneva, but I’m not sure that this will be possible. While I’ll be away from home, I’ll try to check my e-mails as frequently as possible, but my reactivity will certainly be lower than usual.
From now on, auto-pilot is engaged. Have a safe trip !
