Hi Plastic,

If you're asked to squawk 1234 and your readback says 1235 you won't get a clearance anytime soon :-)

I learnt to fly at a non-towered aerodrome so controlled airspace was always a bit scary to me, but I got used to it and even got to like it over time. I have to say I learnt a lot about what to say on the radio by listening to www.liveatc.net. And of course going through clearance requests under the shower in the morning, which I think replaces singing under the shower for pilots.

Happy flying to you all.

I don't fear controlled airspace and even like them.

During my latest flight that involved crossing a TMA with IFR arrivals I was refused a transit à 2000ft and asked to wait for the IFR to be far enough from my flight path.

I then suggested that I could descend to 1500ft and asked if that was OK?
And that was OK.
I transited and watched the IFR commercial flights arriving.

I was then allowed free altitude.
