PlasticPilot’s Advent Calendar – 4: Four unusual places to rent an aircraft

by Vincent on December 4, 2008

Combining holliday trip and some flying can be the opportunity to discover new places, new landscapes, and new ways to fly. Here are four ideas of slightly different places where you could rent an aircraft.

  • Samedan, in the heart of the swiss Alps, the highest airport in Europe
  • Raiatea, Leeward Islands (Iles sous le Vent) in French Polynesia (french only)
  • Redcliffe, in Queensland, Australia (not new to all readers of this blog…)
  • Como – One of the sole seaplane bases in Europe,

:-) Indeed I’ve rented a few times there but in the future I will most likely rent from someone at Bankstown aerodrome in Sydney since Sydney is my new home. Redcliffe was good, good planes, good people, no landing fees and amazing sights within one hour flight.
