by Vincent on December 10, 2008

Pilot bags contains a great variety of items. If you miss one of the them, it’s may be time to ask Santa… Click here to read more about my flight bag.

1 – Headset. Mine is a Bose X that Santa did bring a few years ago

2 – Handheld radio. To make the handling of an electrical failure easier

3 -GPS. Ditto, particularly IFR in IMC

4 – Flashlight. A mandatory item for night VFR and IFR

5 – Chart clip. A must for aircrafts with yokes, useless for aircrafts with sticks

6 – Fuel tester. Since I started to fly diesel aircraft, I have one for AVGAS and one for JET-A1

7 – Sunglasses, for good days, and when gettin on top

8 – Kneeboard. I have a large one for aircrafts with yokes, and a tiny for aicrafts with sticks

9 – Paper and pens. For airport forms, briefing, clearances, times, … and all the like

10 – Sickbags for passengers. Shall I really explain why ?

i hate to say it but i learned a lesson a little while back about keeping a couple in my kneeboard rather than way back in my headset bag where i couldn’t reach it.
