Readers Poll – Who are you ?
One of my favorite things with this blog is to be in contact with you, reader. Comments and direct contact are always welcome. You know a lot of things about me via this blog and I know some of you personally.

For this last poll in 2009, I’d like to know more about you. Who are you ? Pilot ? What for ratings ? Non-flying aviation enthusiast ? How old ? From which part of the world ?
Please leave a comment about yourself, with as much or as little as you want, anonymous of not. The e-mail address of commenters is not published.

Female, 43, PPL-A since summer 2008, home base EDHE. Just started on the (presumably) long road to IR(A), currently fighting with the theory, especially meteorology.
The weather is bad enough in Northern Germany, I really would prefer not to know that nothing else can realistically be expected here (what with the polar front always hovering above us and spawning one depression after the other

I am a student studying aviation engineering in London. I’m an NPPL holder with 47hours experience, mostly 152 but now 172S.
Due to lack of funds before I start flight training in full I want to use my time gaining experience in am many different aircraft and situations as possible with my limited time and funds.
Therefore reading this blog and the sorts of flights you have done makes me supremely jealous!

PPL, Australia, 35 y.o.. VFR Night Rating as soon as weather wants to cooperate. Flying for fun. Wondering if I should do an instrument rating. May do a tailwheel endorsement and maybe some airbatics next year. The rest is on my blog

Well Vincent,

Since a few months back I can proudly say I am a commercial pilot!
…and I am currently freezing my butt off in Santa’s backyard…in chilly Norway!
After a snowfall two days ago the view from my terrace is now something of a picture perfect christmas card….very purty indeed!

I’m a late forties private pilot with instrument ticket who is fortunate enough to fly a sr22 g3 w/perspective system. Been flying for coming up on 6 years now in SoCal. Looking to get tailwheel endorsement or seaplane rating. But what I’d really like for Xmas this year is more time to fly. I’m new to your blog but have been enjoying it immensely.

34, Brit, based londonish. Started through gliding in the UK, gained PPL in Aus about 3 years ago. 175hrs, Aero rated, with strange prediliction for spinning upside down, also tailwheel/csu/retract/nvfr. flown 150/172/180/PA28/PA28R/Sportstar/Decathlon/Robin 2160/Extra (200)/DHC1 (chipmunk)/S2A (the mighty pitts, my current love affair).
Strongly anti all this computerisation, and plastic stuff, but I tolerate
I’m a stick and rudder kinda guy, like planes that need flying.

Sure, I’ll play.
I’m a 26 year old airline pilot with all the ratings that go with it. I fly the CRJ-200, but personally prefer a Piper Cherokee. Maybe I’ll be able to afford to buy one of these days…
Oh yeah, I also run and write for AviationChatter.com

PPL – Switzerland. Been flying since I was 17, now 42, with some big breaks in between. Mostly fly a Piper Archer III out of LSGL and a “Glass” Arrow out of LSPL. Your blog has been particularly useful and interesting for me because, being based in Switzerland, I can especially relate or learn from your posts, airport reviews, etc. One of the most beautiful places to fly from, except very expensive…

I am 68 and have been involved in aviation since 1959 when I saw my first airplane closeup. It was a V-Tail Bonanza at a county fair, placed upon a rotating platform and in the evening dusk had its rotating beacon on.
I obtained my Airline Transport Rating along with a number of type ratings, and over the years have participated in many aspects of aviation. Starting as a student pilot I became a flight instructor, charter pilot, corporate pilot, chief pilot and then formed and owned my own aviation insurance agency for over 30 years.
In 2004 I sold my business and since then have been providing business consulting and pursuing internet activities including my all things aviation blog.

private pilot, airplane single engine land.
flew Piper Colt and Cherokee. Hourly rate when I was a student pilot was $12.50 per hour wet!
Live in the western United States.
Too damn old (61) to fly anymore! I made a commitment while on assignment in Vietnam in the late 60’s to learn to fly when I returned to the states. I fulfilled that dream and loved every minute in the air.
