Readers Poll: What’s your favorite aviation blog ?

There are tons of good aviation blogs out there, I read lots of them and continue discover new ones. But today I’d like to know which ones you read and like.

Readers Poll !

There are two rules for this month’s poll:

  1. You can’t vote for plasticpilot.net – We already know you like it, don’t we ?
  2. If you’re an aviation blogger yourself, you can’t vote for your own blog. Link to it is fine, but voting for oneself is a bit too… selfish.

So, let us know which other aviation blog you like!

  1. I really enjoy jetwhine.com. It’s easily one of the best blogs out there.

  2. I have to vote for Corkey’s Plane Talk (http://loprestifury.com/wordpress/), written by famed stunt pilot Corkey Fornoff. Its a very engaging, funny, and fascinating blog from a giant in aviation. Its a hidden gem of an aviation blog.

For runners up I’d have to vote for Jetwhine (http://www.jetwhine.com/) and of course Cockpit Conversation (http://airplanepilot.blogspot.com/)

Flight Level 390 (http://flightlevel390.blogspot.com/) is by far my fave.

Primary for the masses (i.e. non-pilots), still, very well written; always entertaining peak into commercial passenger piloting ‘electric jets’.

  4. Ben W

I really like Geek in the Cockpit (http://www.geekinthecockpit.com )

  5. Scien

    +1 Cockpit Conversation

http://www.m0a.com – ‘M zero A’ : Good for a student like me, heh. Even if the guy is pimping out his book and ground school pretty heavy at the moment.

http://www.ylayali.com/yafb/ – ‘Yankee Alpha Foxtrot Bravo’ (Short for yet another flying blog) : Back when he was writing fairly regularly the guy kept me entertained. Still have him in my feed just in case he becomes active again (he still posts on occasion at the moment).

I have yours as well, and a few others, including a three AOPA blogs. One for news, one for hyping up aviation, and one for editorial like things.

Quite a bit really, I guess its because I like the ones that update irregularly, but in order to keep content up I have to collect them heh.

Re aviation blogs: my favorites for a real international flavour:

From the Flight Deck with Captain Doug Morris-A320 Captain with Air Canada

and the inimitible: Ian-The Flying Scotsman A B777 Captain with British Airways in the UK.

Both of these blogs cover a wide range of aviation subjects and are current and prolific.

I’ll put another vote in there for JetWhine (www.jetwhine.com) and for some great airport pics you really can’t miss 5 minutes before the crash (http://5minutesbeforethecrash.com/).

  8. In reply to “http://www.m0a.com – ‘M zero A’ : Good for a student like me, heh. Even if the guy is pimping out his book and ground school pretty heavy at the moment.”

@SCIEN :) hahah I’m just making a living! Thank you for the kind words though.

Ok, favorite blogs not including this one and not my own.

Pat’s http://www.AviationChatter.com good friend of m0a and airline pilot
Matt’s http://www.golfhotelwhiskey.com UK based pilot with a twist on the traditional aviation blog. Very nice guy and also a good friend of m0a
Paul’s http://www.askacfi.com great guy chatted with him on the phone quite a bit has some really good info on his blog.

These were in no order just which came to mind first.

  9. One of the aviation blogs I enjoy most is Steve’s A Mile of Runway will Take You Anywhere. (http://amileofrunway.blogspot.com/). I enjoy both his insightful writing and interesting flight experiences but I also enjoy this as I learned to fly not to far from his home airport so his posts always bring back fond memories.
