When I started the Flying Across America project with Jason Schappert, the blogger and CFII behind www.m0a.com last year, we expected it to be a lot of work. The idea is simple: fly from Florida to California and back in Jason’s Cessna 150, rallying pilots and aviation fans along our route to promote General Aviation.
We started to look for patrons, sponsors and partners as well as with fund raising activities almost one year ago. As expected, this is a lot of work, and we do our best to manage that in parallel to our professional activities.
We get some good returns so far and we found great supporters. We have more than 500 facebook fans and more than 800 twitter followers. We also received some media attention and were mentioned on some important aviation blogs. Our fans base along our route is growing and we really look forward to meet all these aviation fans and celebrate General Aviation together.
However, and this is a big HOWEVER, we’re still short of money at this point in time. The flight will start in less than one month, and we need to find more patrons, sponsors and partners. This project is important to me, and I’m convinced that with your support it can become a great success. So please visit www.flyingacrossamerica.com and buy some miles using the yellow buttons on the right hand side.
Thank you.
